You can now automatically send messages from your team, leave notes on conversations in Inbox, and snooze conversations – all in code.

  • Strengthen security and compliance – export and store customer communications at scale.

This means your team can automate more workflows and efficiently handle sales and support conversations at scale.

Increase your team's efficiency by auto-closing incomplete Bot conversations 📥🤖

Now it's easier to see conversations that need a reply, by auto closing conversations started by Bots where visitors didn't reach a bot goal or were abandoned by the site-visitor overnight

This cleans up your inbox, allowing your team to work faster and focus on valuable conversations only.

By default this setting will be turned OFF, but you can turn it ON from the Settings > Messenger > Bot page.

Keep bot conversations in a separate inbox

When bots handle conversations with your customers, it's a good idea to keep them out of your regular team inboxes. This means conversations aren't being 'double handled' and your team can focus on conversations that need a human touch.

This is esp. critical for customers with high website traffic, as the number of conversations created via chatbots can quickly get out of hands and incredibly hard to manage in the regular team inbox.

With this update, all bot conversations will be automatically assigned to the Gist bot until the conversation meets a goal step and the conversation is routed to a team or teammate.

You can access the conversations being handled by bots in the 'Bot' inbox or in the 'All' inbox.

Note: You cannot manually assign conversations to the bot inbox.

This update makes handling large number of bot conversations with your customers easy by keeping these conversations out of your regular team inboxes.

Announcing JavaScript API 2.0: added 10+ new methods and events

We’re thrilled to announce the release of version 2 of our JavaScript API client. It’s faster, smaller, more flexible - with a focus on design and code quality, security, documentation and usability.

Below is a list of notable changes in version 2:

  • You can track pageviews in single page apps
  • You can customize the width, height and position of the Messenger widget
  • You can hide or show the Messenger widget
  • You can open or close the Messenger widget
  • You can hide or show the Messenger launcher bubble
  • You can switch the Messenger to the new Sidebar layout
  • You can clear session cookies for logged-out users
  • You can listen to unread messages count changes and run custom JavaScript
  • You can programmatically navigate to specific screens within the Messenger
  • You can launch the Gist Messenger without the Gist launcher

Introducing Time Zone Sending

One of the most influential factors for higher email engagement is the time the email is sent: studies show that 23% of all email opens occur within the first hour of delivery; within the second hour, opens drop by half.
