Add Gist Contact Profile URLs to your CRM Easily

If you use Gist alongside a CRM or an internal system and have wanted a way to easily add a link to your Gist contact profiles, this update makes it super easy to do so.

In the past, your contact profile URLs look something like this:

https://app.getgist.com/projects/[YOUR_WORKSPACE_PORTAL_ID]/contacts/[CONTACT_ID]

and that "CONTACT_ID" part is a Gist generated unique identifier for each contact. And that made it nearly impossible to link to your contact profiles and instead you had to search for the contact from the contacts list every time.

Going forward, you can access the contact's profile using the contact's email address like this:

https://app.getgist.com/projects/[YOUR_WORKSPACE_PORTAL_ID]/contacts/[EMAIL_ADDRESS]

You can use this in notification emails sent via workflows, for instance.

This code below will create a direct link to the Contact profile (for users that are currently logged into your workspace)

Profile: <a href="https://app.getgist.com/projects/_/contacts/{{ subscriber.email }}">https://app.getgist.com/projects/_/contacts/{{ subscriber.email }}</a></p>

Let us know what you think :)

Unsubscribe & resubscribe contacts manually

While consent and data protection is always the priority with email subscriptions, it shouldn't become an inconvenience.

Sometimes a mistake is made or the wrong CSV is imported as an opt out list. In the past, opt-outs were pretty permanent, and could be a major roadblock when getting settled in and learning how email subscriptions work in Gist.

To make it easier to rectify these mistakes, you can now resubscribe contacts you have manually opted them out of, as well as reverse forced subscriptions from their Gist contact profiles.

How does it work?

You can manage a contact’s subscription status in bulk from the import flow.

Also, in the contact profiles, you can manually subscribe and unsubscribe contacts from all marketing emails.

Announcing Segment Integration 🔥

It’s here! I’m super pleased to announce our newest integration with Segment – the best way to collect, centralize, and deliver your customer data.

If you’re one of the tens of thousands of Segment customers, we don’t need to tell you how this opens up several possibilities to make Gist work with your current tech stack. But now, we get to tell you how easy and quick it is to get started with Gist.

If you aren’t currently using Segment, it’s a platform that helps you collect, clean and route data to your existing tools Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, Redshift and many more. It helps you simplify data collection with a single API and send it to all your destinations – including Gist 🙂

Do I need a developer?

Nope. It’s plug-and-play. Gist already has integrations for most eCommerce platforms, but if you don’t have a traditional eCommerce business, or if you have a custom-built site, then Segment makes getting up and running with Gist a snap.

How do I get started?

If you’re already using Segment, then you’re just minutes away from getting more data into your Gist account.

Simply sign in to Segment, find ‘Gist integration’, and sync your website.

If you are looking for more integration information please check out the documentation here:

Introducing Conversations API + Massive Performance Updates 🛠

Gist Messenger is used by thousands of businesses to connect with their website visitors, leads, and customers every day to build long-lasting customer relationships.

Today, we are excited to announce the Conversations API that gives you the ability to use the power of Gist Messenger for a huge range of needs beyond the scope of what we could ever build.

You can now automatically send messages from your team, leave notes on conversations in Inbox, and snooze conversations – all in code.

  • Automatically send messages – automate messages from your team to your visitors and customers.
  • Improve your workflows – automatically leave notes and snooze conversations.
  • Strengthen security and compliance – export and store customer communications at scale.

This means your team can automate more workflows and efficiently handle sales and support conversations at scale.

We’re really excited to get more of the Gist platform in your hands to build on top of, and we welcome any feedback and requests around additional functionality.

Head over to our new and improved Developer Docs to learn more.

Increase your team's efficiency by auto-closing incomplete Bot conversations 📥🤖

Now it's easier to see conversations that need a reply, by auto closing conversations started by Bots where visitors didn't reach a bot goal or were abandoned by the site-visitor overnight

This cleans up your inbox, allowing your team to work faster and focus on valuable conversations only.

By default this setting will be turned OFF, but you can turn it ON from the Settings > Messenger > Bot page.

For more information, visit our Help Center.
